Knowledge Transfer Program

This KTP project is a University Social Responsibility (USR) project funded by Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. Its main aim is to support the inter-generational transmission of language and culture of the Kayan Indigenous communities in Baram, Sarawak.

This follows the previous documentation projects funded by the Endangered Language Fund.org that has greatly contributed to the documentation of Kayan language, and its culture.

Three workshops were held in 2023:

1. Tekna - oral tradition 

2. Nyivan - dance

3. Na kirep - learning how to make kirep
